Phil has been a steward for 2910 off-and-on since the early 1980s. He learned the value of unionism while working in the unionless East Texas oil fields during the summers from 1954 to 1957. Phil came to the Library in 1977 and has worked as a subject cataloger in Christianity, philosphy, Germany, the Low Countries, World Wars I and II, and psychiatry. Currently, he is a subject cataloger in military and naval science as a GS-13 senior cataloging specialist.
