Patrick Ouellette joined the Library of Congress in April 2003 as an information
technology specialist in the Law Library. Prior to joining the Library,
he held positions of Quality Assurance Specialist and Programmer (Progeny
Linux Systems), Computer Lab / Image Maintenance Coordinator (Bowling
Green State University, Ohio), Assistant Computer Engineer (College of
Engineering, The University of Toledo), LAN Administrator (Dana Commercial
Credit Corporation), and Network Administrator / Programmer (Jones & Henry
Engineers). He holds BS in Physics from The University of Toledo and
has pursued graduate level studies in astronomy and theology.
Patrick joined the Guild shortly after starting at the Library. He has
been around the labor movement much of his life. His father, a retired
fire fighter, was a long time member and president of IAFF Local 327
in Sandusky, Ohio. "You might not need the Guild today, but if people
don't join it might not be there tomorrow when you do."
